2013 Local Advertising Outlook:
Get Ready for the Rebound

This 60-page report offers our analysis of what’s likely to happen this year with local advertising, a $96 billion segment. Bolstered by our trending analysis and a survey of 1,756 small and medium businesses (SMBs) taken in December 2012, this report offers a wide-ranging glimpse. It examines anticipated trends not only in traditional media channels like yellow pages, radio, TV, outdoor, direct mail, cinema and newspapers, but also takes a deep dive on the high-growth online media segment. It examines SMB attitudes toward social media, mobile, deal-of-the-day programs and how they gauge success of certain digital efforts. There are 50 charts and tables, plus an appendix listing online ad-spending estimates by format (untargeted banners, targeted banners, email, video, audio and paid search) for 513 Designated Marketing Regions (DMRs) for 2013, with a table listing how those numbers are expected to change for each market over last year. The Executive Summary and Table of Contents are available for free, along with an Excel spreadsheet listing topline numbers for online ad spending in 513 DMRs for 2012 and 2013. The full report is available for $995, and our 60-minute webinar with the reports lead authors is $195.
